Young Living Essential Oils (EO) are defined as aromatic, concentrated plant extracts obtained through steam distillation, cold pressing, or resin tapping (2020). Essential oils are highly concentrated and more potent than dried herbs due to the distillation process. Plants have been linked to the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of mankind since the beginning of time (Essential Oils Pocket Reference, 2019).
Some prescription drugs are based on naturally occurring compounds found in plants (Essential Oils Pocket Reference, 2019). I started using essential oils to improve my overall health and wellbeing. My goal is to share with you the power and benefits of the oils and blends offered by Young Living Essential Oils.

How essential oils can be used (please view disclaimer):
Aromatically
Topically
Internally
Aromatically: The most familiar way to use essential oils aromatically is with an essential oil diffuser. Users can also add a drop from the bottle into the palm of your hands and inhale deeply.
Topically: Young Living (2020) notes that finding out how to use oils topically is what turns most people from casual oils users to devotees. Essential oils can be used to improve the appearance of healthy skin. Oils like Peppermint can be used on the crown of the head to alleviate headaches.
Internally: Young Living’s VitalityTM line was developed to provide a distinction between oils that can be used internally versus externally. These will be explored in-depth in later posts so keep an eye out!
Essential oil safety:
Always read label directions for each individual oil before use. Do not use oils near the eyes, ears, nose, and other areas with sensitive skin. Please review the disclaimer for my blog and keep in mind that none of the claims made in this post should be taken as professional advice.
